CIA
The CIA offers both legal internships and jobs in working with various types of laws. My hopes would be to be working specifically with international law. CIA lawyers typically work in providing legal advice and overseeing business both on the national and international level. This is considered a federal job, so in trying times such as this current pandemic, there is a more than likely chance that I would still have a job.
What I can bring to this job is my work ethic and my background of being from a military family. My work ethic is what has gotten to this point in my life today, with being accepted into two of my top college choice (in Boston and here in California). It has also gotten me through lower school, since I was self-teaching myself on material that I was having trouble with. My parents were unable to aide me in any assignments past middle school, so I have been accustomed on learning quickly and by myself. My background with both parents being in the military has taught my loyalty and sacrifice for our country.
FBI
The FBI has both internships and jobs in their legal department. Both the internships and jobs are paid, which is a bonus. FBI lawyers, similarly to those in the CIA, provide and oversee any legal action taken by the department. Legal issues could range from either civil or criminal matters, and are on both national and international levels.
Since both the FBI and CIA job and internships descriptions are similar, I would say the same reasoning on what I could bring to the table.
OC District Attorney Office
Orange County District Attorney’s office has an unpaid internship available for undergraduate students. The internship would consist of organizing information from cases, assisting in projects, and gathering data that could potentially support investigations. This would also give me an opportunity to see how the courtroom works in real life and see whether I really want to pursue a career in law.
I can bring a good work ethic, strong written and communication skills, and consistent organizational tactics. I have given speeches perviously for school events such as a Veteran’s Day Commemoration and being a representative for my track and field team in for my college’s student athlete association. I am currently a transaction coordinator for a real estate company, organization is a key factor in fulfilling my role and ensuring the closing of each transaction.
Consuelo Alvarez
She presents herself very professionally in both her picture and biography. Her biography shows that she is versatile in both language and in her law practices. Consuelo also included her charity work with the Red Cross and her extensive background in law.
Rod S. Berman
Rod is very professional in both his biography picture and actual biography. He includes what type of law he specializes in and what significant court cases he had won. Rod included his past clients reviews and his involvement with a Supreme Court Case.
Sara, like the past two lawyers, has a very professional look to her file. She is multilingual and has multiple law degrees in two separate countries. She primarily focuses on cyber security and currently splits her time between the US and China.
For my website, I need a professional photo for my profile. I need to include my academic accomplishments thus far and what type of law I would like to pursue. I have to make sure to include the languages I speak (English, Spanish).
